Virgnie Taittinger is the daughter of Claude Taittinger (chairman of Taittinger Champagner). Where celebrations are concerned, the champagne and wine producer Taittinger has one of the most recognized brands. Founded by Jacques Fourneaux in 1734, the company produces its champagne and wines (mostly pinot noir and chardonnay) in Europe and the US. The Taittinger family, which had controlled the company since 1931, sold it to Starwood Capital for $3.2 billion in 2005.
